HIN - Hull Identification Numbers

Do you have an older boat? Or maybe your boat is custom built. Most Insurance companies require an initial insurance condition report be done when insuring an older boat or custom made boat. MAny marine insurance providers also require regular insurance condition reports for older boats to continue coverage. Dont risk losing your insurance cover, book an insurance condition report with Boat Check WA.

Buying a used boat can be a nerve wracking experience, even for the experienced boater. You like the boat and trust the seller, but is it worth the risk to buy it without being checked? A pre-purchase inspection from Boat Check WA can remove a lot of the guesswork and give you a clear picture of what you are buying before you hand over any money. Dont take the chance and end up paying too much for a dud. Get it checked first.

Most modern EFI outboard motors have onboard memory for storing data and fault codes, but specialst software is needed to access the data. Boat check WA can come to you and check your motor on our software and identify the true engine hours, faults and more. Getting your motor checked can give you piece of mind. Getting a used outboard checked can save you money and prevent any unexpected problems on the water.

The Australian Hull Identification Number (HIN) system was enacted from February 2001 in Western Australia.

From that date forward, all new recreational vessels built or imported into WA are required to have a HIN affixed to the boat and the HIN recorded on the vessels registration certificate.

If you are building or selling a boat, you will need it to have a HIN. You cant transfer the rego to a new owner without a HIN. We do HIN's!
