Bought a boat from interstate???
Before you head down to the the licencing centre to transfer the rego into your name, please be aware that......
......you cant

WA doesn't have a system for electronic boat registration transfer from any other state.....yeah, we know, its 2025 WTF?
So what you need to do is make sure you have a detailed receipt from the seller, that has their details, your details and all the boat details listed and is dated and signed (signature not required if you bought it from a business and get a tax invoice) and have your drivers licence handy....
Then you call, email or book online with Boat Check WA to get the HIN on the boat verified and a new HIN Certificate issued. We come out, measure the boat, check the HIN, get some details off the boat and motor, copy your ID and receipt and then issue you a new HIN certificate. It costs just $70 plus a travel fee depending on where you are. Full pricing is on our website www.boatcheckwa.com.au
Then you can stroll into your local licencing branch, fill out a new boat registration form, hand over a copy of your receipt or invoice, give them the HIN certificate, show them your licence and then hand over 12 months registration fee for your boat size and a $34.15 application fee and its officially licenced!
After that, you can head home, change the registration stickers to your new WA rego number and hit the water!
