Buying a used outboard?
Buying a used outboard can be a daunting proposition for most people. Outboards today are a lot more complex....and expensive than they used to be.
Boat Check WA can check that used motor on your behalf and help you find a peach, not a lemon.
We can check all brands of carby 2 stroke motors and all the carby 4 stroke motors too. We check for common faults, poor compression, PT&T leaks, gearcase seals and many more items.
If you are buying a used EFI 4 stroke outboard or DFI 2 stroke outboard, we can check most Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Evinrude and Johnson outboards that have diagnostic capability for faults and actual running hours. We also give the motor an overall check and a run.
Please note: We cant currently do diagnostic checks on Mercury outboards other than the early Yamaha made models and the early Honda BF115A and BF130A EFI outboards.
A thorough check could prevent you getting your fingers burnt with a dud outboard motor. We can also provide some advice on things like servicing, so you dont get ripped off when its time to service your new motor.
