Terms, Conditions & Limitations

- Errors and omissions excepted

- Boat Check WA conducts insurance condition reports, pre-purchase inspections and HIN number issuing and verification on 3-9m trailer boats in the Perth metropolitan area, Rockingham and Mandurah.

- Boat Check WA is an authorised BoatCode provider.

- Boat Check WA accepts no liability for any theft, damage or loss to the boat, trailer, motor and associated accessories before, during and after the inspection and/or the issuing or verification of a HIN number that isn't directly caused by or done by Boat Check WA or its staff, owner or authorized representative.

- If Boat Check WA feels that any of the inspection process will cause damage, loss, theft or any change to the condition of the boat, motor, trailer or associated accessories, then the inspection process will cease at that point so no liability is incurred by Boat Check WA or its staff, owner or authorized representative.

- The owner of the boat and/or person who books the inspection agrees to release and indemnify Boat Check WA against all claims, actions, liabilities and cost in respect of any loss or damage to any property of the owner of the boat and/or the person who books the inspection and/or HIN issuing or HIN verification and/or any related person or persons, or any injury suļ¬€ered by the owner of the boat and/or the person who books the inspection and/or any related person or persons, except insofar as any such loss, damage or cost is directly caused by or contributed to by Boat Check WA or its staff, owner or authorized representative.

- Boat Check WA conducts snapshot inspections - we can only check and report on what we see on the day. We have no way of knowing if something will fail or be damaged in the future after the inspection has been completed. Boat Check WA will report any issues found that may cause problems in the future, but this is not a prediction of the future.

- Boat Check WA accepts no responsibility for any issues, problems, damage, loss or cost should the owner or purchaser of a boat that has been inspected by Boat Check WA use the boat before repairs or servicing are effected or any issue, problem, damage noted in the report isn't firstly rectified.

- Boat Check WA doesn't do inspections on any non-trailerable boats, boats in pens, boats in stacker storage, boats on moorings or any commercial boats.

- Boat Check WA isn't a mechanical services business and do not offer any mechanical repairs or advice.

- Boat Check WA isn't a buyers or sellers agent and does not get involved in boat payments, pricing, discounts, repair costs or estimates of value.

- Boat Check WA conducts non-invasive inspections. We do not cut holes in decks, remove screwed and glued hatches or do any disassembly of any part of a motor other than spark plugs. Any invasive inspection will need to be arranged prior to the inspection with the seller of the boat/motor and agreed to by both parties. Boat Check WA isn't a mechanical services provider so our inspections are limited to compression testing and removing easily accessible hatches when approved by the owner of the boat/motor/trailer.

- Boat Check WA doesn't not provide any information, recommendation or check any item that isn't plainly visible to the inspector, such as underfloor structures and bulkheads, transom internal condition, rope or mooring lines condition or load ability, underfloor fuel tanks, motor water pump condition (other than ability to pump on day of inspection), fiberglass integrity other than visible, electronics accuracy, range and suitability, seat foam condition and any item hidden by paint, fiberglass, carpet or any fixed covering.

- Boat Check WA does not provide any warranty or guarantees, either implied or given, on any item or part of any boat, motor or trailer we check.

- Boat Check WA will report on visible and/or easily identifiable pre-existing wear and tear where possible, but can not and does not provide any estimates of the future life or suitability of the boat, motor or trailer.

- Boat Check WA is not liable for any hidden, covered, or otherwise unseen fault, repair or defect that couldn't reasonably been noted at time of inspection.

- Boat Check WA will make every attempt to start and run outboard motors and stern drives during checks, but we cant always guarantee we can run a poorly maintained or damaged motor.

- Boat Check WA requires free access to boats to enable a thorough check. Locked gates, dogs and aggressive animals, no keys, no batteries and flat batteries can hinder the completion of the check. Boat check WA will jump start flat batteries where possible, but we do not fit batteries to enable starting where no batteries are present.

- Boat Check WA may in some instances be unable to compression test some stern drive motors due to poor engine room access and boat designs that make the removal of spark plugs difficult and time consuming. Boat Check WA does not remove engine components bulkheads, partitions, paneling, seating or fitted obstructions to conduct compression testing.

- Boat Check WA doesn't report on nor make any comment or recommendation as to the suitability of any accessories, electronics, parts, modifications, options or any items fitted to the boat/motor/trailer.

- Boat Check WA advises that the purchaser of the report shouldn't rely solely on the report as the basis for purchasing the boat/motor/trailer and that age, wear and tear, design, brand, equipment level and suitability for purpose are the purchasers responsibility to investigate, research and consider before making the decision to purchase.
